November 16, 2009

Drove the motor home to Lakeview where our good friends Phil and Royce live. On the way there our realtor called and told us that Fannie Mae (the house we made an offer on is bank owned and went back to Fannie Mae) wanted a letter of credit from our bank with the offer by 3pm the following day. I called our bank and was told that it would take at least 72 hours to get that to us. Dang, are we going to loose our house because of this? We called anybody we could think of who had to do with banking and David also called his lender from his Real Estate Office. Nobody had a solution for us. I emailed statements from our banks to the Realtor and we hoped that would work. We just had to hope for the best.
So went on to our friends house in Lakeview, north east of Columbus. We haven't seen them in about 6 or 7 years. Phil is a paragliding pilot who would come to the Torrey Pines Gliderport to take lessons in paragliding. We soon became friends and always promised to come and visit him in Ohio. Royce his lovely wife came with him once or twice. They have this nice house on a canal which flows into the Indian lake. We parked our motor home on their street and they gracefully invited us to spend the night in there warm cozy house where we also could do some laundry. It was just so nice to visit with them and of course the boys had a lot of catching up to do and telling flying war stories. Phil was a bomber pilot for the Air Force and flew a B52 and is now a jet instructor. Royce is a professor at the Bowling Green University teaching commercial aviation. So of course there whole house is decorated with flying motives...airplane pictures, airplane lamps, bath towels embroidered with airplanes... just very, very cool.
We had a great evening just chatting away.
