1/10/2010 / HOME!!!

David draging me over the threshold with Trina's help

Us checking out deer tracks

We made it. I can't believe it, this is my new home!

We arrived at about 3:30 pm and opened the door to our new home! WOW, unbelievable and very strange to think that we will be here for good. There is not much snow on the ground and it is around 35 degree, rather cozy!

Got unloaded and then went grocery shopping. The heater was turned on earlier by our friendly neighbor Bruce. He then came over and explained us how things work since he was the one who was maintaining the house for the last year and a half while it was up for sale. It was also his best friend who lived here and actually built the house. As he explained, he was also helping during construction. Thanks god, he knows the ins and outs of this house because their are several unknowns for us like the heat pump heating with propane back up, water pump who gets the water out of the pond (our water source), and all the different components of the water filtration system....and on and on! Phew, we ARE in the country!

We rolled our mattresses out and all had a miserably sleep, us because we are to old to sleep on the naked floors and Michelle because her room doesn't heat correctly!

But she LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVES our house. I am glad because I started to have doubts about doing the right thing. Well here we are to stay!

  1. Yes, I certainly do loooooooooooooooove your house. I love the property and the town and everything about the place. It looks like the perfect place to retire.

Now they just need to install some sidewalks in that neighborhood and build up their bus transit service and I'll be extra happy.

I'm really proud of you guys for taking this big leap! In the end, you can always come back to San Diego or some other temperate clime. But I think you'll definitely enjoy the coming years in Ohio.

    Love you!
